Spring means planting, and since we’ve discovered the ease of square foot gardening we love digging in the dirt. So in the course of my birthday/Mother’s Day weekend, we made the transformation from neglected winter mess:

Martha would be so proud! I’m so impressed that you even have a coordinating gardening apron. What are you going to think of next? I love the look of the garden. As always, your outside yard area is wonderful. Good job!

My sister in law next door did a square foot garden this year and it is AMAZING! Getting things to grow here is a but tough, but the square foot method with the special mix of soil is really doing the trick. We are definitely going to do one next year.
